Steve G.

That picture was me ( Stevie"G" ) In my glory,
making my 1st ever run on Taylorville Section.
And, boy was I NERVOUS !  Sure, the water was up
higher than I wished. I just bought that boat (mongoose)
and haven't tried it out on any water till that day. I've
been a class II & III boater this year, thanks to guys
like yourselves who don't mind giving helpful tips on safety, stratagy,
and encouragement, I did run the whole section.  And yes,
I did swim twice, but not on the 1st drop.  Sure, I missed my
line, the water was faster than I realized, but too late!  I
went right into the meathole, but, thanks to "BIG BOATS",
I made a sweet recovery, and rolled back up just in
time for me to start sliding back in it. I thought I was
a goner then, but everyone started hollering "Paddle!  Paddle!"
And I made it through without "swimming".  I'm just a newbie at
this sport and the water does waken my inner soul, it tells
me a rocking chair isn't my kind of furniture, that there is
more to life.  I started sea kayaking 1st, then last year
I got hooked up with some great guys and started doing
Salmon,Lehigh,Genesse, even the Fish !  I'm hooked.  I
hope I'm not boring you, and I'll continue to practice and
learn more every day. I just wanted to say that everyone
swims once in a while, but let me enjoy the ones I didn't swim.
Oh yeah !  Here's a photo you're not used to seeing.------

Just me getting ready for the season !
See Ya on the water !!
